The U3A Altona writing class of 2025 was filled with creativity, surprise and laughter – and quite a bit of emotion – from beginning to end. The focus was on confidence-building and practice; the stories were so relatable and imaginative that I had to try hard to help us analyse the writing and learn from it. Several people thought they weren’t very creative or ‘good’ but quickly discovered that, actually, they are.

The four stories in this booklet are offered for your enjoyment and we look forward to more joyful writing in 2026.
